Living Word Family Church

Living Word Faith Ministries Inc. was founded by Pastors Dwight and Geraldine Hicks in April 1983. As Pastors, the care of people is of vital importance to them and is above everything else. Ephesians 4:11 ("and He gave some apostles, some prophets, some evangelists and some pastors and teachers...") is the foundation of the pioneering of Living Word Family Church. The heart of Pastors Dwight and Geraldine is to build people. When our Lord impressed upon them to start this work, the Scripture that the Holy Spirit gave to them was Isaiah 54.

Isaiah 54: 1-17: The main strength of Living Word is found in these verses. The Lord impressed upon the Pastors four strengths that would be Living Word:

1. Truly a worshipping church of the Spirit. Music and songs of the Spirit taught by God (verse 1).
2. Truly a teaching church. Teaching of God's Word and Spirit, not man (verse 13).
3. A church of national influence. A church for all nations (verse 13).
4. A large church. A church that would always be stretching and enlarging the place of habitation (verse 2).

The Spirit of God also revealed certain revelations within these verses.

1. Growth would be slow in the beginning (verses 6-10)
2. How the Lord looked on the Ministry (verses 11-12)
3. The Enemy would try his best and use every obstacle possible
(verses 15-17)
4. Pastors Dwight and Geraldine would build ministers fit for the Master's use.

From our first Sunday meeting at the Eight Mile Plains State School in 1983, Living Word has progressed to its present day facilities, basing itself on the truth in Habakkuk 2:3: "For the vision is for an appointed time., but at the end it shall speak, and not lie; though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry".

What you see today is the manifestation of the continued vision that the Lord gave to the founders of Living Word. The vision for the future is large. The foundation must be solidly built upon the Word of God. The parts of the building must be fitly joined together and be faithful to the Lord.
Our next steps are:

	Enlargement of Auditorium to seat 500.
	Full-time Bible Academy.
	Prayer and Healing School.
	Housing units for those in need
	A facility for the aged. (A place of Heaven on Earth for them).
	Last, but not least, all the land behind us to build for Him (and not man) a Kingdom Complex and auditorium to seat 5,000.
